Martinique seems like a tropical paradise, but anthropology student Fam hasn’t gone there to soak up the heat, booze and bronzed bodies. She has research to do. This is work.
She gradually realises that the island is in the midst of an ecological catastrophe. Pesticides have contaminated the soil, and Fam meets a man who gets her to understand what it really means to live on a poisoned isle. But how intimate can you be with someone you also want to do research on?
