A book about squirrels, an animal the great majority of us have seen and recognise – but perhaps don’t know so much about.

Here children learn more about squirrels by following them for a whole year. They’ll get a glimpse into their daily lives and the challenges the animals encounter. They’ll hear about great leaps, strange noises, and the danger a young squirrel faces. Surviving its first summer is no easy task, and neither is making it through winter. The squirrel in this book manages exactly that – it’s a survivor!

In addition to the factual narrative, at the back of the book, there is also a large poster full of detailed facts.

• The book is written for reading aloud to children 5–8 years old, but the older ones in the target group will also be able to read for themselves.

• Together with Lise Myrhe, Synnøve Borge has previously published six wonderful books about animals for children who are a little older.

• Illustrator Nora Brech has previously illustrated The Wolf Forest (2019) and was nominated for the Brage Prize 2019 for her illustrations in Buffy By is talented.
