A young Greenlander, obsessed with returning home, embarks with his two closest friends on a misguided adventure seeking to find a reported group of Icelandic sailors in the hopes of gaining passage to Greenland. On this ill-fated journey, he meets a young woman of of the Mi'kmaq Tribe, initiating a star-crossed love affair, the tragic repercussions of which will echo into modern times.
Present day Oslo: Norwegian physician Leonard Koll is haunted by dark, mysterious visions of what appear to be a former life. A high-stakes lawsuit involving a corrupt Canadian pesticide corporation brings Leonard to Canada, somehow triggering even more of these strange dreamlike experiences. In an unexpected turn of events, the answers Leonard is searching for suddenly surface in Newfoundland, after he subjects himself to The Wind in the Blood, an esoteric type of regression therapy. Leonard comes to the realization that his own tragic story with a former lover mirror that of the past, and that he must right wrongs committed five hundred years earlier in order to gain much sought after catharsis in the present.
